REVIEW: Ozzy Osbourne – Live at Budokan (2002) OZZY OSBOURNE – Live at Budokan (2002 Sony) Ozzy’s last paint-by-numbers live album was almost two decades ago. In actuality, you really only need a live one with Randy Rhoads and you’re golden. But if you’re in the mood for downtuned Ozzy songs, Live at Budokan might be the way to go. On June 25, 2002, Ozzy Osbourne released "Live at Budokan" album. The album was recorded during Ozzy Osbourne's performance at the legendary "Nippon" Budokan Hall on February 15, 2002, during his "Down to Earth" Tour, this album showcases Ozzy and his formidable band—longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Robert Trujillo (soon to join "Metallica"), drummer Mike Bordin ("Faith No More"), and I've always been a huge Ozzy fan, right from the first time I heard Black Sabbath's Master Of Reality album in the summer of 1972. I was immediately hooked. Black Sabbath still is one of my all-time favorite bands and I own everything they and Ozzy as a solo artist have ever released. I must admit that with all the media attention being given Ozzy and the rest of the Osbourne family lately He had a great band in 2002, with Zakk Wylde plus ex- Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin and future Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo. Live At Budokan also features plenty of classic material, from opener I Don’t Know through to the inevitable finale of Paranoid. But there was nothing in this album that he hadn’t done better before.
