After Ozzy Osbourne was dismissed from Black Sabbath in 1979, his future in music was uncertain until he met Randy Rhoads through Sharon Arden, who would later become his wife and manager. Osbourne described Rhoads’s audition as “a bolt of lightning” that reignited his passion for performing. Rhoads’s contributions to Osbourne’s debut solo albums, Blizzard of Ozz (1980) and Diary of Randall William Rhoads (December 6, 1956 – March 19, 1982) was an American guitarist. He was the co-founder and original guitarist of the heavy metal band Quiet Riot, and the guitarist and co-songwriter for Ozzy Osbourne 's first two solo albums Blizzard of Ozz (1980) and Diary of a Madman (1981). It was five years after the death of Randy Rhoads that Ozzy sanctioned the release of this double-live set, recorded during their final tour together in 1981. In a handwritten note printed on the album’s cover, Ozzy stated: “I have hesitated to release this album for many reasons, but now I feel that this is the right time.” Ozzy Osbourne’s first recorded live album was Tribute, largely meant as a tribute to the late Randy Rhoads. This is the rear cover of the 2002 CD remastered version.
