By creating a duplicate of the main vocal track and offsetting it by a few milliseconds, Ozzy's voice sounds doubled, amplifying its thickness and presence. To further enhance this effect, his vocals are often panned hard left and right, creating a stereo image that adds depth to the mix. This technique is a I'm recording my demo, and I'm wondering what effect is used on most of Ozzy's vocals. He has a spectral, chorused type sound to his vocals, especially on his earlier solo albums.
