It's the fucking contrast in vocal production between the two that really makes it sound sooooooo fucked. If they both had ridiculous 80s vocal production like Ozzy or both had cleaner modern production like Jessica, I feel like it would be way less jarring. Ozzy had a great natural singing voice on the first four Sabbath albums, but after that he started distorting his voice and using auto tune and it dipped in quality. His vocals on the Sabbath albums after Vol 4 just aren’t as good. I don’t like his vocals on his solo stuff at all for the most part. The Sabbath album 13 was dreadful. His voice in early Sabbath was just so powerful it was a Ozzy's voice has been so heavily synthesized for so many years that a lot of the autotune just blends in to his sound. He had no problem staying in pitch in Sabbath's early days. He's just not healthy enough physically or mentally to do it anymore. The last time I saw Ozzy with Sabbath (at Ozzfest about 2-3 years ago), his was the single-most awful vocal performance I have ever heard by anyone, anywhere.
